Action and Events

Dear members and friends,

Determination and Courage

We have all acted with great determination and courage over the last few weeks. I want to thank you and congratulate you. The political feedback has seemed extremely positive. We were able to reinforce numerous facts to many members of the National Assembly. On Wednesday, May 8, our cause received a good deal of media coverage. Pray that our efforts will prove fruitful.

It is difficult to predict the future. The political and administrative procedures to follow take place behind closed doors. Will we have the impact we desire? Will we get the desired postponement of the draft regulation? We hope so. In the meantime, other political initiatives are underway, and again, we cannot predict their success either. We continue to work in collaboration with other associations.

We invite you to two (2) activities and immediate action.

Immediate Action

We ask ALL members to forward WITHOUT DELAY to their MNA the comment and letter from the Protecteur du citoyen (Ombudsman) that you will find in the link below.

Protecteur du citoyen – Projet de Règlement modifiant le Règlement sur l’enseignement à la maison

It is also suggested to inquire about the follow-up your MNA did with Minister Roberge following your letter or meeting.

An update on the situation during a Facebook Live session will be held on Monday evening, May 20, at 7:30 pm in French and at 8:15 pm in English. Please write this in your calendar.

The second and, undeniably, most important activity is our 21st ANNUAL CONFERENCE. It is IMPERATIVE that the greatest possible number of people be present. This will be the best way to demonstrate our solidarity, our determination, and our willingness to continue to home school despite any laws and regulations in place. With all the work you’ve done, and with all the local, regional, and national hype generated, I believe that homeschooling will be more popular than ever!

We look forward to seeing you during the FB Live session and I sincerely hope to see you again on June 7 and 8!

I leave you with this passage from the Word of God:

1 Corinthians 15:58 (NIV)
Therefore, my dear brothers and sisters, stand firm. Let nothing move you. Always give yourselves fully to the work of the Lord, because you know that your labor in the Lord is not in vain.

ACPEQ is composed of dedicated volunteers who generously invest their time and talents to advance and support the cause of homeschooling.

A large number of volunteer families within ACPEQ is essential to enable us to offer the services that support homeschooling, improve support for members, and create a welcoming atmosphere in our association. A wide volunteer base is what will permit us to influence the next generation of homeschooling families. Be involved – become an ACPEQ volunteer.
